Dr. Jamia Dock - Educational Leadership, Consulting, and Impact

The CEO of Climbing Higher Heights LLC, Dr. Jamia Dock is an accomplished educator whose career embodies a commitment to academic excellence and community empowerment. With a PhD in educational leadership from Concordia University, Dr. Jamia Dock brings extensive expertise in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and teacher training. Her academic preparation also includes advanced graduate credentials from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a BA in history and English from Alcorn State University.

Starting out as a history teacher at Washington High School in 1997, Jamia Dock went on to serve in a wide range of leadership roles including athletic director, assistant principal, and ultimately principal. She served as principal of Central Middle School, then Lincoln College Preparatory Academy, and later African Centered Education Collegium Campus. Her leadership resulted in improved test scores, more vibrant school climates, and national recognition, including a prestigious Blue Ribbon Award.

In 2018, Jamia Dock founded Climbing Higher Heights, LLC, an educational consulting firm dedicated to advancing student achievement. Through it, she works with 14 school districts, designing curricula, delivering professional development to teachers, and conducting parent workshops and academic bootcamps. She has met or superseded all academic goals as an academic consultant for USH.

A certified grant writer and professional development trainer, Dr. Dock has also developed initiatives focused on violence prevention and youth leadership. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and a lifetime member of Alcorn State University Alumni Association. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and caring for elders.
